Uni-Lock Tripods

The Concept of Uni-loc Tripods

The single curved bolt and locking lever allow independent movement of each tripod leg and the centre column, allowing the tripod to be locked into almost any position. The result is an extremely rigid tripod, versatile enough to be used on the most uneven terrain. Constructed from high quality Duralumin (hardened aluminum) the tripods incorporate fully sealed lower leg sections with tough spiked feet, making them equally at Home in the studio environment as well as the inhospitable outdoors, immersed in mud and water.

The Uni-Loc range of tripods is divided into two series - The STANDARD series and the SYSTEM series. Each series has two gauges - the MINOR light weight which is suitable for most 35mm and lighter medium format cameras and the MAJOR regular weight which is suitable for 35mm cameras with longer lenses and for both the heavier medium format and large format cameras.

Now designed in and manufactured in Leighton, Buzzard as a division of Logica Engineering Ltd., the present day range of Uni-Loc tripods are the natural progression of the original Benbo Tripod invention of Chris Mills in 1962.

Ken Brett the developer and designer of the Benbo/Uni-Loc tripods from the early production days with Kennett Engineering Ltd., and later with Brett Engineering Ltd., now heads up this division team with over 50 years combined experience in tripod design and use.

The Uni-Loc tripod is unlike any tripod that has gone before and therefore you will need to understand the advantages that the Uni-Loc offer you. Our design team has a unique experience of designing and producing a bent bolt tripod over the last 33 years.

MINOR STANDARD SERIES
The Minor 1600 Standard is currently the lightest tripod in the Uni-Loc range.  Constructed from 25mm and 30mm diameter aluminum tubing, the tripod's weight has been drastically reduced to ease portability.

MAJOR STANDARD SERIES
The Major tripods are a heavier-duty tripod designed to cater for the amateur through to the professional user.  They are robust rendering them as an essential accessory for the modern day photographer and videographer.

Constructed from 28mm and 35mm diameter aluminum tubing, the tripods offer a solid but lightweight working base, suitable for almost any situation.

The Major series tripods provide the optimum combination of weight, strength and stability and are available in three heights.
